10. Goldeneye 007–N64
Anyone who had the chance to play this game as a kid knows the feeling you got when you popped the Goldeneye cartridge in, and powered on your N64. Absolute Glory! I knew every inch of every map in this game. I knew where to stand and when to shoot to clear any level in the fastest time. Not to mention gathering with friends and playing the 4 split screen. I love this game and it will always be remembered as one of my favorites of all time!
9. Assassin’s Creed 2–Xbox 360
I remember playing Assassin’s Creed 1. I thought it was a good game but it just didn’t grab me. When Assassin’s Creed 2 came out I remember I was hesitant to buy it, but I’m glad I did. I got absolutely hooked to this game. It was nothing like I had ever seen and the improvements that were made from the first game were incredible. This was the game that made me love third person action games.
8. The Last of US–PS4
The Last of US for the PS4 is one of the most beautiful games ever made. It was the first time I played a game that had the 3rd person action I love, absolutely amazing graphics, and a storyline/acting that is better than most movies that come out these days. For me personally it took gaming to a new level and will always stand out as one of the best ever.
7. Super Mario 64–N64
The first 3D Mario game! It doesn’t get much better than that! I remember getting lost in this game, spending hours exploring the different worlds and doing everything I could to get every Star. Every task and goal in this game is fun and interesting. I can still clearly remember getting my N64 and its signature launch title, Super Mario 64, on Christmas morning. One of the best Christmas gifts ever!!
6. God of War–PS4
Take everything I loved about The Last of Us and times it by 10. That’s God of War. Graphically it’s the best game I ever played, and the story grips you from beginning to end. I am still currently playing this game, trying to complete all the side quests. I can’t get enough of It! Please play this game!!
5. Batman Arkham City–Xbox 360
I love Superheros and Batman is my favorite. As I mentioned numerous times already, I love 3rd person action games. Combine this with an open world atmosphere and a kickass Batman story with all the great characters and villains! This was my video game dream come true and it more than lived up to the hype! In fact it’s been awhile since I played this. After God of War I’m going to hit up the Xbox store.
4. Super Mario Bros 3–NES
Do you remember how it felt the first time you flew with Raccoon Mario? I do and I will never forget it as long as I live! I played this game for so many hours I could probably run through some levels blindfolded. This game set the stage for even how Mario games are today. It was a tough choice between SMB3 or Super Mario World(which I also spent hours of my life playing), but I went with 3 since it was the jumping off point.
3. Zelda Ocarina of Time–N64
The Legend Zelda Ocarina of Time is the best game experience I had as a young adult. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time satisfies the soul to such a high degree. Throughout Ocarina of Time’s story, I literally felt like I was Link. His successes became my own, and I remember how great it felt when I finally conquered both past and present to deal Ganondorf his final blow. It’s was just about the best thing ever.
2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild–Nintendo Switch
This game is absolutely astonishing. There is only one game on my list that is greater than BOTW. Nintendo has created, for me, the 2nd greatest game of all time. It’s everything I want from a game and one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. There is just so much to explore. You get lost in this world and are free to do and go wherever you want. I have put over 70 hours into BOTW and I am only 35% complete with the game. That should give you an idea of how vast this game truly is.
1. Grand Theft Auto V–PS4
There is only one game that could top Zelda in my video game library and its GTA V. If you have never played this game I seriously feel bad for you. GTA 5 is an absolute blast to play. It’s one of the richest and deepest games ever made, and has an insane three person storyline that connects as a whole. This game not only has one of the best single player stories and gameplay of all time, but the online gameplay is also extremely fun. This game is a MASTERPIECE!
